What Is It Called?
The God Who Walks With Us: Forty Days with Jesus for the Chronically Ill (working title, subject to change)
What Is It About?
When the Lord of lords became a man and embraced suffering, he intentionally identified with suffering humanity. In a world obsessed with productivity, Jesus gives us a different message. He walks with us while inviting us to follow him, not by our strength and effort, but through radical trust in him.
Just as Jesus intentionally deprived himself and experienced temptation in the wilderness for forty days, he comes near to us in our pain as well. Symbolically, the number forty represents a time of wilderness and suffering, something the chronically ill are very familiar with. But the wilderness is not forever. Paradise is promised, and we may be surprised by all the different ways Jesus walks with us on our journey home.
When Will It Be Out?
I am writing the book now, and I expect a full draft of the book to be finished by the end of the year (2026). Since Purpose in Pain just came out in May of 2026, I would like to focus on promoting that book for a while. I expect it to be available sometime in the 2nd half of 2027.
