Credential and Topics
For twenty-one years, I was a full-time preacher for three different congregations. I have spoken at every kind of event related to church pastoral work. I have also spoken at many other events (retreats, conferences, and school events).
As a speaker, I like to weave my own experiences and the stories of others with my biblical training and theological insights. Since starting Broken and Mended in 2018, I have focused on speaking about the problem of chronic illness and pain as they relate to the Christian faith, with the practical goal of reconnecting hurting people to Jesus through the local church.
After leaving the preaching ministry in 2025, I became available to hold Broken and Mended seminars (weekends focused on the chronically ill and those who want to support them). Along with the seminars, I am available on any topic related to suffering and the Christian faith.
Testimonials
“David helped to open our eyes to the ways that people in our community are suffering with chronic pain, often in ways that go unseen. The seminar not only raised awareness of their struggles, but of how we as a church can better minister to them and show them that they are not alone. Not only that, but he reminded us that the church needs people with chronic pain, for they bless and minister to us as well” — Mike Miles, Livonia Church of Christ
